Ok yes I know I have been a bit slack in terms of blogging but I have been on holidays… they are short so I have been making the most of them to do nothing, chill and relax!!! Once I am back at Uni this will be a lot more constant.
What I want to talk about tonight is the factors, the progression and the power of memory! How memories seem to haunt us like a shadow with a mind of its own, they seem to be triggered by the relativity of the smallest details and they always seem to be present when most unexpected – this is usually due the association of something smaller which is connected to a much larger context.
Usually memory becomes triggered by association – this in most cases can be music, routine, dates, weather or even people. I know for me it is music, routine or time. When these occur i relive the memory in seconds!!!
You will be amazed at what triggers memories (how small something can be) – but also how it effects your emotions and your thoughts. Memories can be happy things, sad things or anything you have experienced in the past.
This is quite a deep topic and i feel i haven't even touched on it!
I kinda have just gone blank but I will reblog more when i remember!!!
QUOTE:
“It's surprising how much of memory is built around things unnoticed at the time” - Barbara Kingsolver
VERSE:
"But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 3:14
It was great to read one of your blogs again son. How true is that quote. There are so many instances where something triggers a memory that at the time I wouldn't have even been able to tell you what it was! Have a great day.
