I am an IT Consultant.
IT consultants may be used to provide organisations with strategic guidance in to regard to IT technology. Their tasks include meeting with clients to determine requirements, planning timescales and the resources needed, travelling to customer sites, defining software, hardware and network requirements, developing agreed solutions and implementing new systems, helping clients with change-management activities, designing, testing, installing and monitoring new systems, organising training for users and other consultants, identifying potential clients and building and maintaining contacts, working with clients to define the scope of a project, clarifying a client's system specifications, liaising with staff at all levels of a client organisation, presenting solutions in written or oral reports, and analysing IT requirements within companies and then giving independent and objective advice on the use of IT.
