In today's society - what we perceive as friends is rather different to the traditional or more so the generic definition of a friend.
friend - a person you know well and regard with affection and trust
However today's more common definition is as simple as:
friend - a person with whom you are acquainted
friend - an associate who provides cooperation or assistance
See the difference? Let me explain it for you.
If you were to ask a group of people what is a friend to them you would be given a collection of answers… that's because we all have a different idea of what a friend is. It's common at schools today to have hundreds of friends through the association of another or simply because you have met before.
Other friends maybe ones you hang with at school or the ones who tell u what to do or what is cool. These friends are more acquaintances who you do school with and chill at lunch time. They might tell you what to do, they may set the level of cool they may also just be like u or me. But do they know you personally or just as the everyday school kid you show them?
A real friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. Someone who is loyal, trustworthy and honest with you in integrity, friendship and companionship. They won't sugar coat the truth but rather be honest with constructive criticism, they would never push Your boundaries or tempt you to be something else.
This is very brief – yet it gets to the point…
