Why I Ask.. Why?

Why bring those down around you when you can bring them up?
Why make things worse when you can make them better?
Why push away when you can bring closer?
Why give up when you can still press through?
Why stop when you didn't even start?
Why fight when you can make peace?
Why leave when you can stay?
Why dwell when you can move forward?
Why lie when you can tell the truth?
Why hurt when you can be healed?
Why be sad when you can be happy?
Why be something else when you can be yourself?
Why run when you can walk?
Why hide when you can seek?
Why ask the question when you know the answer?
Why hold a grudge when you can forgive?
Why stress when you can relax?
Why act when you can be you?
Why follow when you can lead?
Why be silent when you can speak?
Why walk when you can run?
Why pass when you can ace?
Why take when you can give?
Why mime when you can sing?
Why be shy when your loud?
Why fall when you can catch?
Why be tired when you can sleep?
Why struggle when you can achieve?
Why are you weak when you strong?
Why fear when you can be brave
Why hate when you can love?
Why fail when you can succeed?
Why fake when you can be real?
Why doubt when you can be confident?
Why lack when you can be abundant?

Why Why Why?

That is the question – yet why don't you let these be questions of understanding rather then questions of confusion. If they stand out to you, do something about it…

Why do nothing when you can make a difference?

The Pretty Inspiration…

I find it amazing how - as I explained the other day, its the little moments which we remember, which count and are the memories we will enjoy. Now lets take it a little further. Take it down to the detail.

Have you ever noticed the clarity of reflection of the window on the train?

The oddness how someone can smile without even adjusting their dial?

Have you noticed how sometimes that the smiles around you bring the brightness, not the sun?

Have you ever watched and noticed how we all laugh differently. The joy and happiness which is expressed in this action?

Have you ever noticed the luminance in hair? How it wraps through the wind, how it curls in cuteness and seems to tell a lot about its victim?

What about how overtiredness creates this sense of charm. A sense which says I'm so over this but I'm going to smile anyway.

What about how we dance to the beat or simply to the rhythm of our excitement?

What about excitement? Excitement creates this motion to open your mouth and scream? Or simply seem like you are shouting without the vocal ingredient.

All I can say is there seems to be more than what meets the eye wherever you go and there always seems to be that pretty tone to the world around you.

Sometimes I wish I could capture that perfect moment…

We Make Our Own Fairy Tales

The time of our lives, the very present in which we live in. Can be brought to a single shatter by the click of a fingers. Observation is what sides with this in the relationship in which I call; enjoying the moment. Its not those long, long, nights which we call the bests nights ever, but it is those little details clustered within the night which are what make it real. Which make it remembered, which make it the night of your life.

Next time you have a moment… A moment such as a lunch break, a train trip to the city or a warm fuzzy coffee in the corner shop. Take this moment to observe. To notice the little things. Watch the birds take their time to for some apparent reason sneak and shuffle between the tables of cafes in search for scraps, sweets, crumbs or simply anything which will suffice a morning snack. If you watch long enough you may catch the moment of a seagulls adventure to stumble upon ones sad resort to leave their plate of food behind… Now this is what you call waste! But to Mr Seagull this is all his birthdays at once. Within minutes, within a moment this seagull has polished off some fancy lunch meal consisting of; blushing tomatoes and golden chips. If you hadn't taken the moment to observe the details around you… would you have noticed the busy, yet exciting lives of city street bird?

Next time you have a moment in which you call “being bored” take the moment to look at what is around you. Everyday people are amazed of these abstract and such peculiar pictures people seem to create from their so called photography skills. Yet reality speaks for itself. What you can see with those two eyes of yours so can your lens. Finished a bottle of coke or some bubbly refreshment? Have a look down the bottle? What do you see? Who cares what you see but trust me with this… Take out your camera and snapshot in-side the bottle… Weird… yes indeed it is? But isn't that art? The point here is – we become so focused on rushing to squabble down some coffee scroll and evaporate our drinks like a vacuum gone wild, that we don't see the different things, the odd things, the normal things or even the good things around you.

Next time you have a moment, enjoying the sunshine, walking down the street or even going through the checkout. Take the moment to share the love, to share the excitement in which we can all create in the little minutes we have. Adore the quality weather when it lasts, breathe in the fresh air, let it flow and put that smile on your dial. When you walk through the busy street make an effort to make it easier for the ones around you. Acknowledge them, let them know your happy. Give them a smile and  give them the matter of the doubt that today is a good day, so enjoy it! Take a moment to smile to the checkout chick, don't freak her out… but she has been standing there for the last 4 hours… Say hello, give a smile, reassure her that she isn't just some robot item scanning machine, but that helpful person she really is.

In my further fight to make my point clear… take the time to notice the details. The pleasant noise within the air, the simple breeze and the singing birds, the diversity of what we call fashion today, the chance to spread a smile through a scheduled crowd or even noticing the pretty girl who is always smiling at you but you were to busy to notice. The point is… Relax, take your time, and discover what can be created in the moment we call a day, a lunch break, a dash back to work, a coffee break, a minute.

A Moment.

Really Cool Waterslides…

It was said money could by you happiness and in thought it is true. Happiness is a mental state of well-being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Now what money can by are certain possessions which will simulate the very emotion of being happy, however eventually it will die out.

To be big and popular it would be suggested you need to be known, full of fame or least have the epic 2000+ friends on Facebook. Big is one way of putting it, popular is another, compensating for something is a much better way of putting it.  They are lonely! They spend their $ on consumables and the many material possessions of todays society and try to find a way to “stay with it” or “up to date”. Why? Because without it they are a nobody, a simple guy or girl in a big, bad world trying to find their way. But that's sometimes to little for some.

Now if we put the money and the fame together we can mutate the next evolution known as FORTUNE. The way I see fortune is the combined collection of money and popularity together. Some would call it fame, however usually those who own a fortune don't go unnoticed… and this basically speaks for itself… just another escalation of exponential growth from some guy trying to be known and find happiness.

Then there is glory… usually these well known, so called happy people wish to be glorified and known to all man. To show who they are and what they have become from what, where, when and how!

In the end though what was achieved? Some reputation? a name? a big cheque book or a fancy house? Sounds good? awesome? ok? Well some of it is good and awesome and would be for a time.. but it wears off..

Some would call it success? Some would call it “the life”… I like to call it the BIG C. The Big Compensation. The compensation of filling in the blanks and the lack of satisfaction and the lack of accomplishment.

In the end what I am trying to get at is Success… it is defined through various definitions and methods and is also illustrated as fame, fortune, wealth and prosperity but really who is the world to dictate what success is?

Success is is simple.

“Success is based on ones opinion.” – Chris Furlong

You can only make out what your success is. If 2000 friends does that for you… good for you but for some, 1 best friend would beat a large number!

If you haven't got the point by now… then this was a failed attempt in succeeding!

We can elaborate and discuss it forever, but sometimes it was right there in the beginning.

Peace….

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. – Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

Have you ever thought about being called to peace? According to the apostle Paul, our membership in the church should be marked by peace. This peace is more than an umpire deciding who is right or wrong; peace in the church is an indication that Christ is ruling in our hearts. When we decide to make Jesus the ruler of our life, His lordship will challenge our egos, any envy, dissentions, or gossip to bow the knee before Him. How about you? Are you at peace with your brothers and sisters? If not, obey the call to peace and let Christ rule in your heart.

I thought this was very interesting…
As yes church can be quite the political football… There always seems to be a blame game going around suggesting people in high places or even lower places are doing X when they should be doing Y and with that in mind we have Z as the result.

Let me remind you NO ONE IS PERFECT, we all stuff up. Get over it. And yes sometimes things need to be addressed and action needs to be taken, but if we are at church to see what isn't right, to see how “we see fit” and “how it should be run” are we really at peace within the church.

Speaking of membership – this may imply the authenticity of being a member in writing but also a person who attends the church with the intention to be united as a body – essentially making the church itself.

Yes we are to be challenged,  but firstly to find peace and virtue within ourselves. Not to go out and challenge everyone else's egos, envy, dissentions or gossip. They should be dealing with that themselves. And before we should be challenging others we should be making sure we are in the right first.

We become so raced up in seeing what should be right for everyone else and checking up on them and their lives then our own… we lose all track of peace with our brothers and sisters in Christ. At the end of the day it is all about where we are with the Lord? Where we stand in his name! Is Christ ruling your heart? Or are you ruling it and others too?

Trying To Do Handstands For The World…

I set out to write something big, inspiring and uplifting tonight, but with these light headiness (being sick) I have failed to even write a sentence…

One thing which does come to mind is the chase we seem to embark in keeping up appearances, maintaining our own social abilities and responsibilities to one another along with the very basics of communication.

The ironic thing is we all strive for the very same thing one way or another – that being love, acceptance or the self esteem quality of feeling adequate in society's eyes.

Anywho… just a quick little rant or ponder or rantponder <---- I think i am tired…

The Riddle…

JUST TO CONFIRM – this is an analogy or anecdote, which either one you want to see it as. It is a slab of context which describes the answer.

I have found that through the moments in which we endure, we seem to always go through endless notions of rewrites of what we call life. Life does go on, however do we? We say we are going forward, changing things, setting goals or making a difference… But all that really happens is we seem to slowly progress on this so called journey, but seem to encounter repeats of moments, repeats of times when things were good, when things were bad and when choices had to be made. Having thought we had gotten past this, it seems to come back around and give a quick nip on the rear end or a quick slap on the face as a wake up call, a reminder to say… Hey, this isn't over yet! There is still so much more to come, so buckle up buddy or “sister” life is going to keep going on, keep throwing things at you and yes it may seem to be a constant reoccurrence of what you have seen before, but get use to it!

Now, with that in mind, we also do attain wisdom, we will always grow from our experience both through thick and thin! We will gain knowledge and the understanding of how things work, how people think and how these two together will react or result in. The thing that annoys me is how people have the guts, let alone the nerve to go ahead and think they will get away with things. People must not understand the common understanding of logic or common sense. If you haven't heard of it before; we learn from mistakes, we learn to pickup and things which seem to take us down these notions. Don't you worry I can play your game too, but are you ready to play with me? Once you start there is no going back? You need to realise what is said is done, yes it can be forgiven but trust, dignity and respect are shattered into pieces, lost in the past. Forgotten.

Its happened before and was bound to start again, but why would you? If you think manipulation can spiral your way into this, then you have another thing coming. You can run and hide, you can play and fight but you will lose. Learning is the best experience anyone can obtain, and what I have learnt is… I can read you like a book, so stop shuffling your pages and let me tell you how it ends! You may think your smart which is great but I guarantee you will be out witted, out moved and put in your place. When I play this game I play for checkmate!

Riddles, puzzles and a collection of tricks you will present, but answers, solutions and results is where I am at. You think you have outwitted me, when really your playing right back into your own little twist! Deception you chose, but only you were deceived. You think your calumny will fool me – I doubt it! Yes aggression has been stirred as a good defence is always a good offense. So be on your heels, or maybe the edge of your seat because the game of guile has just begun!

What is it???

The Overstatement of Expectations…

Through life we go through a series of events, cycles, journeys, mistakes, building blocks and so on and so fourth – in which we find ourselves venturing through hope and faith with exceeding expectations, obviously goal driven, but sometimes we overstate ourselves in the sense that things will just happen when we want them to happen.

We get so tied up in what is going on and become focused on the past things and the things we want in the future… but what about now? What about the things of the present? The people, the friends, the society around you! What about working on the how and why we are going to get something and somewhere rather then the what.

I'm not saying don't set goals, or pursue ambitions or dreams, but don't overstate yourself with things which need a reality of time to happen. Not everything is going to happen as planned, so be prepared for it! Be ready to let yourself be vulnerable. Its ok to make a mistake, to feel a bit of disappointment or failure. Because without these how can we find true success or achievement?

I'm just saying don't pursue something which is running away from you, from who you are, from who you are meant to be! But chase after the things you can capture with empowerment and through the knowledge that this is building you up to move you forward rather than around in circles or lower…

“To move forward it takes not a crawl on all fours, not a single step nor a jump but stepping into the motion with two feet”

Dream Cycle of Continuity…

Have you ever had a dream which doesn't just last those final moments of your sleep, but a dream which continues every time you sleep, a dream with chapters or different segments of a prolonged story, or a hidden agenda…

Have you ever had something on your mind which seems relentless to let go of? It seems to latch on to you and follow you around like a bad smell? Once you forget it, you remember that you haven't thought about it – then bam your thinking about it. So your going through this long cycle of  an un-needed repeat which gets you no where.

What if you if finally you found something which did make you forget, that made you finally seem a peace once again and all knowing. Not a feeling to cover it up, but rather something which blocks out that endless cycle…

So what is it? I don't know… once you find it please let me know

There is one peace we can turn to… Jesus

"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.” – Matthew 6:34

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.”
- Isaiah 26:3-4

Collected, Combined and Composed

The following is poem of no real direction, nor real relevance to your (the readers’) but rather a poem expressing a set of emotions, experiences, knowledge, understandings and a bunch of contexts in which have been all brought together in one composed piece.

Broken it was, as the moment was told,
Thrown away with nothing to hold,
I begin to question the intention at all,
Of an action, which was basically the fall,
I found it once and once was lost,
Lost can be found, with out a doubt,
Doubt is a second guess,
But seconds can be the best,
This time will be different,
This time it will be meant,
This time it wont be a test,
Not a dime nor less,
I figured it out, the pieces of it,
Like a jigsaw at peace,
Knowledge and understanding,
Clarity through a lens,
It will shape the end,
Mistakes were made,
Forgiveness is laid,
Moving on is a process, of pain,
To what its worth, there was no gain,
Realising is standing up,
Just like, we need to man up,
The future can be made,
Let’s just hope it wont fade,
This time will be different,
This time it will be meant,
This time it wont be a test,
This will be the best.

“But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” – Mark 9:22b-24

Dull!

Why hello…

Sorry for the lack of blogging – But Uni has seemed to be the priority of my spare time. I guess that would really mean I haven't had much spare time and when I have.. sadly I have had no thought in blogging due to being DULL.

Bound to Letting Go…

“The binding in which our minds believe, is only the addition of repetitive mind sets, the conception of what you want to think.. or what you think you want... plus the inability to humble pride and seek the alternative option." – Chris Furlong

Unexpected Corners

“Hello” – Fellow followers and readers,

Due to the overwhelming experience of Uni, currently my blogs may lack taste, may be slow, may seem spontaneous in context or may be unavailable. However one thing does remain – they are just around the corner.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Autumn

Its fine and fresh,
Finally autumn at it's best,
Its the clarity in the air,
Which makes you care,
An open mind to see it through,
Whether it's kind or in the blue,
Deep blue skies,
A clear analogy,
A sweet scent,
Dancing through rhythms,
What we make of the day,
Can be happy or grim,
Joy can be found,
Like a sound of attitude,
Sun is bright,
But just right,
Smiles are what make you,
Integrity and strength too.

So I’ve been doing a bit of poetry lately – just seems to be all the clarity or sense I can make right now, but it has been nice.
Currently Uni – is full one with Assignments one after another…

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. – Hebrews 12:14

Presents Wrapped But No Where To Go

Days pass - life goes on,
Years pass - age goes on,

Memories are spoilt,
Memories are fun,

Birthday wishes are a miss,
A present is well spent,

Forget the price-tag,
It's the thought that counts,

Now the days are being counted,
Wondering... Wondering... Wondering,

Sweet 16 what a cliché,
I see no sweetness – but rather pain,

Ignorance is bliss,
Irony is like a kiss,

Change will happen,
But it's all the same.

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8

Sorrow

Though the shadows may fade,
Life’s full of what you make it,
To worry brings doubt,
And through doubt we worry,
Peace comes through time,
Time in which we give,
Decisions can be tough,
And so can love,
I never knew it,
Till I found it,
Once I found it,
It was gone,
Believe in something,
Rather than live for nothing,
Seek him and be found,
Knock and wait for the answer,
Answers are needed,
So are questions,
The question is,
Finding those answers,
Fresh air, sunny skies,
Sunshine brings a smile,
To enjoy a rainbow,
We must take a little rain,
We all think the same,
We just perceive it differently,
Knowledge seems smart,
But wisdom is realty,
Sleep is needed,
Exercise is too,
What we make of these,
Isn't really true,
Guilt is a burden,
Hurt is for certain,
That mistakes,
Will help you learn,
There is work to do,
Hard work to do,
Work Hard or,
Hardly Work.

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. – 2 Corinthians 7:10

All In Good Time

Well, I haven’t blogged in a bit – and no I haven’t forgotten, it more so that I have been overwhelmed with HW, study and things and haven’t the appropriate moments to think clearly (in the sense of blogging). However I will be blogging when I can.

On the side, I never didn't hear from Metro about my long lost scarf, however I managed to purchase not 1 but 2 new scarves on Friday in which will now accompany me to Uni. Can’t wait for winter, as I get to rug up!
Well that's me for tonight followers….

Routine… Uni… The Cycle

It’s all a bit overwhelming at the moment…

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31

R.I.P

Well sadly this morning – was a terrible morning… Worst one in a while..
Yes.. I left my scarf on the train, simply by accident of course and not a single person (the 4 people sitting around me) decided to let me know it was behind me as I stood up to leave.. By the time I had reached the second platform, I had realised I had been separated with my Scarf. Sad, Sad, Sad it was… A lot of you are probably thinking… DUDE IT IS A SCARF.. well no! Its not just any ordinary scarf, its my favourite scarf, a scarf full of moments, adventures and memories…

But there is hope yet! I have contacted the Lost property Service Team of Metro, and they will hopefully be keeping an eye out, if an AMAZING person decides to hand it in… or if they stumble across it whilst they do their nightly train sweep.

So who knows, this may be just another adventure of my scarf… and hopefully it will be back where it belongs! Around my neck!

Long story short – as I travelled to Uni in despair and sadness, I decided to lighten my spirits with an amazing bacon N egg 6inch Sub from Subway, with an OJ to go. These put a smile on my dial!

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Psalm 5:11

Check It Twice…

“Even a broken clock is right two times a day.”

Just a quick, simple quote – yet the context behind reveals the reality of perspective. Something broken can be noted for useless, when in another perspective the clock isn’t really broken, but rather hindered to its full potential. It is still handy – but for only 2 times a day.

Not everything is what it seems…

A Slice Of Pizza…

Today was the day that – puzzles, jigsaws, pieces, questions and concerns all seemed to come together. No it wasn’t the freshness in the air, the gentle breeze of clarity nor the gentle rhythms of natures way, but it was something more… something different.

I’ve realised that – through a review and a vision of my rear view mirror,  the mistakes I’ve made, the regrets I’ve carried and maybe even the guilt I have pulled have had there moments in pulling me down. They have made me think, made me question the many things in life – but of course I have always trusted the Lord and will continue to do so – but what was it other than my trust in the Lord and his help to get me here?

It was the very matter of change – not the change of dramatic details or a new episode, but rather Me, Myself and I. I have changed. I have become someone I wasn't before, someone more confident, more intent to the things around me and stronger both physically and emotionally through thick and thin – I have gained enough wisdom to know that who I was a year ago was great but now I am even better.

Now don't get me wrong – what I have become isn't bad, and isn't always good either – I may have changed one thing, gained another, but lost two on the way! But at the end of the day I feel different…

But there's more to come, there is more moulding to continue and this sculpture has plenty to carve. That’s just it guys and girls.. its not about what you can do, or how you look, or how special you are – but rather who you are on the inside! The inside is that true beauty which should be shown on the outside and NO – I haven’t found it yet but I am on my way!

Now it takes a bit to get here…
Firstly it took the stepping over my proudness to admit things needed to be handled by the Lord God Almighty, it also took my stubbornness to know that some things I needed to change – small things, little things, things which lacked confidence, how I approached things, and my adaptability to things… But these little things shine in the big things, they glow and seem to beam out who you are in snippets at a time…

I guess we could think of it like a PIZZA, yes a PIZZA!
A common, normal pizza has what, like 8 slices? So say if there were 8 parts to ones life, 8 chapters of creativity, chapters of becoming who you are, defining your character and realizing we all make mistakes, go on some trials and bumpy roads, along with the encounters of the world, decisions, disappointments, excitements, joy, let downs and so on and so fourth. In the end we have 8 slices in which we become who we are… I guess what we need to make sure is, that we take the time, the effort and the commitment along with that piece of HUMBLE PIE to make a stand and fix yourself, build confidence, and journey on with the plans God has for you.

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.Proverbs 4:18

Some commentary to follow -

In a world that wants instant results, the Bible tells us that our growth comes slowly, but consistently. Maybe you are discouraged today because you don’t feel like your life is going anywhere. But how were things a year ago? Five years ago? Ten years ago? Many times it takes a long range perspective to remind ourselves that even though we have not gone as far as we want to, when we look back, we see that we’ve come a long way from what we used to be. We are getting brighter and brighter! - Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

The Wisdom Of The Wise…

Knowing is wise,
Wisdom is knowledge,

Pray and he will listen,
Look and you’ll find,

The future holds hope,
But hope comes through a plan,

The best advise or kind,
Is to follow the path,

That God has in mind.

A Little Poetry

Ok so I thought I would try do something a little odd and little different… that's right some good old poetry.. now be nice and take it easy cos’ this is my first time! Also remember to read poetry it follows a rhythm, so just take you time and take it in…

Travel the world, beneath the sky,
Oh how long till it will be mine?,
The Sun will rise on the dawn of day,
It takes a chance to follow a dream,
Or make a choice and blow a goal,

Life is full of joy and full splendour,
But if your a fool – its a lot to remember,
Watch a bird, fly, fly away,
It’s a wonder their not swept away,

I never knew it, but I would have to say,
Knowing the truth, can be quite the pain,
If i had a chance to take it away,
I wouldn't hesitate to make that change,

Tomorrow always comes,
But its never the same,
Yesterday is gone,
But the present is now,

Silence is loud and a pierce to the ear,
As they say, as soft as concrete,
Sarcasm is blunt and tough,
But crude is like a roughened stab,

The betrayal of mate is a stab,
But a broken heart is more like a,
STAB, STAB, STAB,
A wound left to bleed,

People talk, it’s society's gossip,
What we make of it? A mistake,
It takes two to tango, but one to drive,
Three to change a light bulb, when fours a crowd,

Common is constant and
Constant can change,
Time will tell and tick, tick, tick,
Time will also change,

Blink, blink, we close our eyes,
Like knock, knock – someone's there,
Chase all you want,
But they will be sure to hide,

What’s to know and what’s to say,
We all grow each day,
But character is who you are,
The best you can be,

We search and search,
And try and try – ironically.
Insane is repeating these steps,
That's human in the plain,

Wait all you can, hope all you want,
but without a step or two,
Life wont make a move,
Only your day in age,

Just keep swimming – as it goes,
Left and right, to and fro,
1,2,3 – a, b, c,
The rhythms of life,

Tap Tap Clickedy Clack,
As the words begin to wrap,
And the mouse seems to flick,
A PC – Personal Computer

On and on, is it ever going to end,
Some say 2012, others are lost,
While some seek faith,
And others seek the cross,

The decision is yours,
Opinions are ours,
But in the end,
What do you make of it all,

Music the rhythmic moods of life,
The acoustics of emotions,
Like an arithmetic equation,
It flows from one end to the other,

Memories are left behind,
But last forever,
And can be put on rewind,
Play, pause or maybe even fast forward,

Sorry wont cut it,
Wont fix it, wont make it better,
But forgiveness will break it,
And make it whole,

I guess it could go on,
But for a first this seems enough,
Maybe next time it be tough,
But for now lets say BRING IT ON!

- Hope it was bearable….

The Mountain of Hope

Well today wasn’t to bad I guess, I had a nice cruise in to Uni, with the fresh Sun and a cool breeze, however this moment of enjoyment was soon ruined when rocking up to Uni to find the parking facility was closed… so parking was found elsewhere…

No – I am not blogging about car parks or parking… just thought I would mention it…

Hope – the very reminder in which we base our goals on…
I have come to realise that Hope, is of course a great thing, something which can create a joy and life in someone like none before, it also however, can seem to place false acquisitions or possibilities in which we think will occur, yet they never seem to come to pass or simply they, keep dangling in front of us just out of reach…

Usually we realise this and move on and refocus the priorities in our life… BUT BAM, they seem to pop up over and over again… those constant reminders, the confusion in which we cant seem to weigh up – if this hope is for the real or just another.. potentiality in which may never happen…

And that's ok – we all have dreams and things we wish to see – and hope whether it does seems all drawn out or simply something we can rely on… I think we all should have it because it gives us something to work for – or look forward too…

I guess the main let down is the people who seem to give false hope – speak too soon, mention something which probably was a little early to know or at the wrong time… these tend to then play at our emotions, thoughts and hope in which we have accumulated already…

Then again maybe this is all me…

Let hope keep you walking, but let your faith set your path   Chris Furlong

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

The Open Road of Bumps and Adventure

BAM! That's right welcome to Technically Sentimental 2.0 – The more new and improved layout in which seems to be more relative to my blogging.

Today was fresh – I started the morning with a Grande’ Hot Chocolate at Starbucks Coffee, I had already purchased a bottle of OJ for the lecture and a banana. These are the mornings I love… although I didn't do much thinking or pondering.. that was all tonight.

I'm just going to cut to the chase… Tonight lets just say the unexpected happened, I mean don't get me wrong I have been having this vibe for a while now and that it was bound to happen… (the unexpected to jump out at me…

Any who! You are probably thinking what is hew on about..

In life as I have blogged before – it is full of choices, decisions and crossroads.. We will come to forks in the road in which, we will have to decide which path, looks the most realistic road to travel down… My roads have had their moments, their bumps and river crossings, but I’m just not sure if I am ready for another fork in the road, another river crossing or another bog in a muddy track…

Then again I am here now and I have gained so much experience, so much more to character and to offer… My life seems to be on cruise control with all the things coming and going as they need to be. I have had to change a tire or two but who doesn't… I have also had my moments of spinning out of control.. but I guess the reality of it all is… I have come this far why back out now. Why back down from the open road now?

The road will be rough, but I think I am tough enough to do it… and who knows maybe in the end that goal I set out to achieve in the first place may just seem to be at the end of the line…

Todays Tough But What About Tomorrow…

I have come to realise that in life some things will be tough, but tough enough to make you who are to become – help mould into your true character. Once we meet that character, become that character… does that mean things wont be tough? NO!

The tough will come back for sure, but this time you will be ready, ready to take on the fight. The only thing is… getting to this character may require you to face the tough again before taking on the fight!

How would I handle the tough… that is a good question because honestly we don't usually plan for the tough, but rather for the day – but if we looked at each day as day closer to the tough, then there isn't much time at all… as yesterdays planning, was todays plan for tomorrow…

“Yesterdays planning was todays plan for tomorrow”

A Sophisticated World In An Everyday Container….

Being back at Uni for the last 2 weeks has finally made me realise the definition of routine again and is slowing becoming easier to adjust to…

Surprisingly there wasn't much entertainment today on my train trip… Although there was this one guy who decided to give some lady his number when the doors were closing and with no consideration for others decided to force the doors open 6 times.. yes people 6 times..  and boy did he get some faces!

What I have come to realise is the train is just a container full of even more containers – containers in which we box ourselves into our own realities, into our own worlds, looking and observing the ones around us without simply saying a word or making contact. Its rather ironic if you think about it – I mean a train full of people no one talks to others unless they need to. We live in a sophisticated world yet we cant figure out how to communicate to someone else on the train..

Some don't want to, some like to have some time to themselves but seriously we are all thinking it, why doesn't some one just do it? I probably wont but that's not my point.

Its amazing how amongst the thickness of thorns and bushes the Rose always stands out – but what one defines a Rose is another question…
So many decisions in life, so many choices, so many opportunities, so many what could have been’s, so many chances, yet so many of these are missed.

“Time lost can never be recovered but time given can be controlled.” – Chris Furlong

Don't ask me what all this was about, because I simply wouldn't be able to tell you – maybe you should take an adventure on the train and see the many environments, contexts and analogies you can find.

Mornings of a Scarf, a Smell and Beauty

Well currently I am missing the morning dawns of a winter morning – filled with a coffee to go or warm hot chocolate, a peaceful walk to uni with music dancing through my mind – These are the moments I can think, the moments I seem to find it all.

A year ago that was an escape from reality… An escape in which created something more than just a routine and the morning train adventures. It helped eliminate the endless thoughts in my mind and allowed me to ponder the morning and all that it contained…

One thing that has always amazed me is the potentiality of a scarf. As I like to say Scarves seem to be full of secrecy and full of so much more… I mean if there was a swap a scarf day it would be full of endless smiles, joy and illumination of fun and freedom!

Smell – the sensation in which drives emotion to run wild or initiate action. This amazing sensation seems to be so captured within the morning freshness and sunshiny days. The smell of the sun lighting the richness of the land – what more could you want?

One amazing thing this morning was being woken by the perfect reflection/magnification of the suns glare right through my window, through the small space beneath my curtain, which then perfectly glared into my glass of water reflecting into my eye sight – in which woke me. All I can say is what a beautiful way to rise. Beauty can be hidden – but also found at the most unexpected times!

The Unfair Innocence

How is it that the innocence of being yourself, tends to be the common mistake in causing an issue, a problem or something which makes situations complex.

I have found that by being myself has always helped me get through life and make friends etc, however potentially by being myself to others this can cause rather unknown consequences or surprises… which I am unaware of.

As I blogged a little bit back about “Not So Mr Nice Guy” – not using that particular context or example but rather the theory behind it – How is it that the innocence of someone who has always been loyal, been of integrity and kept to guidelines and the rules of life – yet I seem to have to fight it out more or seem to have to watch what I say, do, or be…

Seems unfair if you ask me.

Sanity Takes Time…

Ok Ok Ok.. some would say it was quick, some would say hurry up all ready or some wouldn't have a clue – but on thing for sure is time will tell.
Today I was reminded of the very thing I am trying to forget and it makes me realize that maybe it isn't about trying to push it away, trying to fill it with something else… but to let it leave when it is ready…

But I was sure it was gone… But then we have the constant reminders from other people who are yet to analytically understand the consequence, the real thought behind what they say… Yes this brings a whole new meaning to “to think before you speak” but seriously.. some things should be left unsaid and I don't need to know or hear…

Then there is the FEAR of confrontation… we all struggle with confrontation at different levels but the confrontation I am talking about is the awkward type.. What if was to happen…

If only we could cut and paste and reshuffle our minds, our sanity would be so much easier, and our problems could be erased like.. like.. like they never even happened. As it was famously said – “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” The more we try to get rid of something, remove a memory, or simply move on will only cause an insanity to the brain…

Therefore it will be time which takes control and takes it away!
Have a problem with it? How about you manage your time, you sanity and walk in your shoes!

The Muffin Theory

What a day.. Studied from 9am to 6pm straight.. had 1hr and half break then been doing it since till now…

Tomorrow is my final Summer Exam “Yippie Yi Yay” is all I can say as once it is done its time to RELAX!

That's it for tonight.. Sorry just so tired and over it all hahah!
But not to worry I will be back and back with a nice Blog which will be all about the Muffin Theory…  (I'm joking.. about the whole that's it)

That's right the Muffin Theory. Now your asking yourself what on earth is the Muffin Theory… The Muffin Theory is something which goes into the specifics of opportunities into the specifics of how the opportunity will flow… Now with this is mind the opportunity I will be talking about will be relevant to me.. and maybe a few others who I have told or have a more deeper side to them and can read between all this hyped up text.

So what is the Muffin Theory.

It starts like this…
So an opportunity arises, this opportunity is rather spontaneous, it seems to pop up out of no where and always seems to be around. Now – your thinking.. what do I do.. do i take the opportunity or do I let the opportunity come to me.. See sometimes we can pursue an opportunity or we could wait till the right moment till it at your feet then you can pounce on it and take control… Which comes to the point I am trying to make.. If we, you, me or whoever just keeps waiting for this opportunity to come to you.. what if it never does? If we had some formula for this opportunity the amount of variables, scenarios, possibilities and different time issues would be endless.. it would probably be more likely that it wouldn't come to you. Therefore… we have the Muffin Theory.

Ok so you are walking down the street and as you are walking – in the window of the local Cupcake Central outlet, you notice they have specials on Muffins… and these aren't just ordinary muffins we are talking “you beauty muffins” with double choc chip icing and choc chip insides, with more chocolate on top of the chocolate icing… lets just say it is chocolaty and you want it!

Now… while your drooling over this bad boy, you notice the price tag, the queue inside and all the other issues in buying this Muffin. BUT! What do we do… the muffin isn't going to jump out of the window into a bag and walk itself out is it? Unless some customer decides to purchase it before you do… So instead of just sitting there watching the muffin watch you.. watch the muffin! Pull yourself together, march in that door, stand and wait in the queue and purchase that pricey yet SO AMAZING muffin.

BAM! You have now completed and learnt the Muffin Theory.. which was stop waiting around for something that aren't going to happen… You get in there and do it yourself! Make that opportunity come to life!

“How much of human life is lost in waiting.”

My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. – Psalm 119:28

Surpass

So I decided I would try fit in another blog tonight..

To be honest I'm still struggling with a but of writers block.. which is a pain as I am craving for a good blog. Although I did think/ponder/learn something today…

I have realised that memories in this case happy memories seem to be something you can never surpass… I guess your thinking why would he want to forget happy memories… Well for first because they aren't the present anymore.. yes they were great and memorable times (obviously) but now I think its time to see them go. The more I push the more I try to see them go the more they seem to recollect and become stronger… Maybe some things aren't meant to go.,.. Or maybe I am actually remembering something which has a greater meaning to it? Like a picture… give it to 25 different people and they will give you possibly give 25 different perspectives… Therefore this memory of a moment of something… is maybe of something I can only think of… when really my memory isn't that focus… but the actually concept behind it? I dunno… but what I do know is I think I now know what it is I am trying remember…

LOL.. confusing much.. hahah My Bad!

Anyway… just a funny thought to leave you with….

Lets say invisible cars were to emerge in our technology… could you imagine the irony if someone was to misplace their invisible car! HAHAHHAH I think it’s a classic!! hahah

Random Acts and Sunshine

Ok… Well as you have all probably noticed I haven't really been blogging regularly due to Assignments… but also now the endless amounts of study… I seem to be doing.

Anywho… I have been a bit dry in the sense of clarity to write or blog.. don't get me wrong.. majority of my blogging is from a general ponder on the train or maybe a funny anecdote while enjoying a banana at Subway…

The only thing I can think of is my recent concept behind “spontaneous”. My theory or definition today is:

Spontaneous: Something completely random yet surprisingly good.

What's this got to do with anything? I don't know but what does anything have to do with this? lol…

On a final note..

“Friends are the sunshine of life.” The ironic thing is people who have sunshine in their life – must be travelling through a storm or be stuck in a blizzard because they don't tend to see the light, the shine, the warmth, the real beauty behind the sunshine… They tend to take the sunshine for granted! I mean in the long run yes it is their loss… but seriously what would you choose? A bright sun shiny day (sunshine) or some second grade day full of rain and cold…

All I can say is… who is your sunshine, how do you treat them and do you really deserve something worth shining for when you cant even shine yourself?

Anywho – Night

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. – Proverbs 18:24

Another sun shiny day is just around the corner

Ok so I haven't blogged for a while.. Been sO caught up in assignments and all...
However I am ever so reminded by the sunshine, how it seems to illuminate more then it really knows. Potential is always around the corner and we all know that the sun is bright, but
in time sunshine will be brighter. Discovery is the way of seeking out something new... Something new is always blooming and you can make it real regardless if you do shine or not.
Think about it... Sometimes a discovery could be somethiNg about yourself??

Anyway the sun has now settled and all shine has gone to bed!
But the sunshine does bring happy moments to each day...

Blogs should be back up and running soon guys..
With quotes and verses. :)

What we knew is what we know..

So I haven't blogged for a while, due to the overload of assignments!!!
However I will leave a quick one tonight!

Today was hot… today was slow… today was productive… today was great!
After a long day of church and assignmenting, i managed and decided to take the night off and just have some chill time! Was great to collapse and relax on the couch, then in my bed! Plus talking to friend's!

I must say that the Sunshine today was great! Its amazing how just one can have such an impact! An analogy of the sun can be filled with laughs, moments, memories and most of all friendships! or a friendship!

Any who! i will leave a quote and verse for you all!

Not So Mr Nice Guy!

Ok so I don't know about everyone else out their, but when it comes to time, my timing seems to be always at the wrong time. Time is a natural and bound thing, yet in a fraction even the smallest moment in time, your life can go to a high, to even higher, to greatness, to straight below 0 and then sit there trying to crawl back up through the rubble its stuck in!

Now I know there are a lot of people out there, some better than others and some who go their own way. But me, I like to be out there to care to help and to show the world who i really am (yes a Christian of course) but just how a girl should be treated, how a brother should be, how a man should be known on the street.

So here goes my “Not So Mr Nice Guy Theory”

We live in a world, a world full of corruption and of things we all seem to agree to disagree on. Which is fine, we all have our ideas, religions, and meaning to life. That's fine – I'm not out to judge, but I try to represent (as said before) who I am and try to bring the best out in people. Treat them with the very respect they deserve. When I try to follow integrity, be real and be honest it always seems to come crushing down. "I'm in a catch 22!, and that saying "honesty is the best policy", seems to be the ironic thing which blew it all up!" Now after doing what was right, all I can seem to think is when being the nice guy it always seem to be the worst. The nice guy seems to be that one who is there when no one else is, the one who cares when others make it unfair, the one who encourages when the rest bring doubt, the one who builds you up when the world brings you down, the one who is honest and loyal in all his ways when others seem to be lurking around and hiding reality, the one who would do anything for you when the rest  leave it all for you, the one who wouldn't make it hard but make it easy, the one who wouldn't be out to hinder but to guide, one who is ready, when the world is still getting ready, the one who would drop it all when the others would delay – what i am really trying to say is all we do, all I do is with the best intentions,  I do it to avoid the hurt, the wrong and issues. But the ironic thing is time is the very thing which hurts more than reality, because it only needs a moment in time to change and when the hardest thing seems to be the only choice – be ready for it because it wont be come down easy.

Look we have all made our fair share of mistakes! We have also all made a fair share of hard choices, harder than you know. But what I must clarify is there is more to what meets the eye in every circumstance – you can either take it or leave it but not all things need to be at their fullest to be at their greatest.

“Not all things need to be at their fullest to be at their greatest.” – Chris Furlong

Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Proverbs 2:11

Well I think this would have to be the most appropriate verse in terms of walking the walk, and talking the talk as a Christian. Discretion is the “quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.” by following this (not judging people, not gossiping and crossing lines) it will protect you from stirring trouble or a muck! Now if we have an understanding (wisdom) we should be able to be guarded from the world. The things which seem to suck us in so innocently, yet end up blowing up in our faces. So if we fully understand (all contexts) then we shall be guarded! But to understand all contexts we need to know our Lord! and seek his wisdom!

That's my opinion anyway…

Interesting turn of events…

Well I not really going to be very descriptive tonight but, I’ve had a rather interesting w/e, with work, friends, homework, music, events and church.

There is so much that goes on in our lives, more than we don't realise (in others). We think we understand things, when really there is so much more, we think we have it right when really it is all wrong, we also think and try to do it on our own and make it what it isn't.. the thing is people we can only do our best. But what we define best as is a different story!

Depending on our decisions, morals, religion or choices, what we see fit for right and wrong will vary, which is fine, but one thing that remains the same is the underlining fact of what love should be!

Don't mind me – just venting at things which seem to annoy me.

"Marriage is not a “trial and error” proposition. Dating shouldn’t be either – unless you want to practice divorce. Marriage is a lifetime commitment. It must not be taken lightly. Any pursuit of intimate relationships with the opposite sex should be honouring to what God created, the sanctity of marriage, not selfish fun.” – Chris Furlong

1 Corinthians 13:4–8a
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails ...

Come Away

So it was a year ago (exactly) in which I thought a lot would change – well I mean it did change, my whole life changed, but i thought it was going to be a change of hardship, a change into something I would never want to experience.

But the Lord had a plan for me, and I'm not saying the year was perfect but it changed me into the better man I am today. We all tend to have our good years and our bad ones, but now that I have made it to this day finally I can say I have come away as a better man!

So from today I shall make it the day in which new beginnings will begin, new plans will begin to prosper and I will make it a year to begin great and wild memories to remember.

This year will be where opportunities are made for me and my life and for all that is in it.

Quick

I am very tired so here is a Quote for the day and a scripture.

The Judge

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment
.- Barry LePatner

To judge or not to judge? Is this really a question? I mean in all sense regardless of your moral and religion, we all naturally judge to an extent in which would be harmless. But we also tend judge to far – we seem presume, assume that what we see is what we get, what they say is what the speak, what they do is what they live. At some level of modesty yes, someone wearing black eyeliner or has multiple gothic symbols over their body could be taken as a Goth – we can think that for sure but maybe they are someone who has a liking for symbols and simply overdo their eyeliner?

Judging is state of forming an opinion or estimation of something. It can be to make a decision or reach a conclusion after examining all factors. Now realistically to gather all factors of a person this would take an extent of a relationship to at least form some conclusion of someone – yet then again friendships aren't always the truth, sometimes you think you know it all when really you know nothing. So to judge someone (in a technical) sense this would require you to know the person, examine their characteristics and have knowledge of their life.

I don't think seeing someone for 30 seconds down the street is covering all factors…

So what do we call it? Someone who does this 30 second judging?

I think the best way to name it would be :

A Presumptuous, Assumptuous, Acquisition in response to ones insecurities, jealousy and the failure to identify themselves.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.- Wayne Dyer

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

To Progress or to Move?

Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress
. - Alfred Montapert

There’s a saying that goes “to move forward you must progress, but to progress you must move forward” and in most cases we do. But through life – everyone's life, we all experience a little something called hardship. That's right nothing comes easy in this world, in one way or another some work is involved, its more that fact on how much we measure this work.

In terms of a hardship this will vary from person to person, some will encounter more than others, while some may suffer for an extensive period of time. Regardless of the time or amount, this is a common factor to all our lives. When this ‘hardship’ occurs we usually have some sense of support whether it is a family member a friend or simply that person who has concern for you. Their most common responses are: let go, move on, it will be ok, just give it time, time will tell, you are strong, one step at a time…

These are all true in the sense they are meant, yet in order to progress from this hardship it may just depend on the motion in which you are taking. You can rock that horse forever yet it will never achieve a distance, you can try to progress but without a real horse it would be impossible.

What we tend to do is position ourselves on this horse – unknowingly, and we tend to ponder, think and conceive thought about our situation, going over and over the situation in a sense to overcome it, yet all we do is seem to rock that horse, run in circles and cause ourselves to be only more rundown by focusing on the problem, rather then taking the necessary steps to move on, to let go, to make it be ok!

What those steps are is a question i cannot answer – depending on your hardship or situation, your steps will vary.

But what my point is, you can choose to rock your horse and think your moving forward or you can move forward and choose to take the steps (you will know where to start) in order to begin moving forward and leaving this hardship behind!

To move forward you must progress, but to progress you must move forward.Chris Furlong

“I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, show yourself a man, and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go, – 1 Kings 2:2-3

Too worried to be concerned?

There is a great difference between worry and concern. A worried person sees a problem, and a concerned person solves a problem. - Harold Stephens
I guess this brings a whole new perspective to when someone says their worried about you or when they say they are concerned about you.
In some sense, they can be taken either way but to be concerned it needs to be relevant to you, it is something which you know is a problem  and you know it needs to be fixed. Where as a worry would be - your not so sure what is going on and you want to get to the bottom of it with the hope to help at the same time.
Now with this all in mind – next time you say your concerned or worried, make sure you understand your context or someone who may think to much or take things a little to personal may pick up that – all your trying to do while worrying is snoop and see what the problem is (get some Goss), or maybe they are a care bear and truly are concerned about you and want to help pick you up as they know what you are going through…
If you are worried about the concerned, then really you should be concerned about why your worrying”
